CAOS International is organizing the 23rd annual Computer Assisted Orthopaedic Surgery (CAOS) Congress in Groningen in 2024.
As we all know, computer-assisted surgery is definitely our future, especially robotic surgery. The new robot arms, capable of bending and rotating with high precision and accuracy, can assist surgeons in achieving better and safer outcomes for patients. Robotic surgery is already being used. Additionally, the use of big data in the medical field is becoming increasingly common and will play a larger role in our medical systems.
CAOS 2024 promises to provide you with up-to-date knowledge and the latest technologies, combined with delightful food and a pleasant stay. In short, this is an event you don’t want to miss! Be sure to mark the date in your calendar: June 19-22, 2024 – Groningen!
Please take a look at the event website: www.caos2024.org
The society aims to capture the essence of the current trends and scientific progress to provide experts and newcomers with a clear synthesis of state-of-the-art information in the course of our annual meeting as well as in our activities including interdisciplinary focus groups cooperating on different fields, programs for continuous training and education, student mentoring programs as well as resources for exchanging data and resources for research, development and education. From an original historical focus on computer assisted navigation, the society expands its mandate to include the essential fields of advanced medical imaging, mathematical modeling, individual biometrics of gait and soft tissue characteristics, and peri-operative objective functional outcomes, internet of things and the digital operating room, medical apps and data security as well as rapid prototyping or the critical role of economics and health technology assessment.

Papers are expected to demonstrate novelty by arguing that there is a gap in the existing literature that the presented work addresses and to present data to support any conclusions drawn.
You will be asked to submit two files, for which templates are available:
Please use the Word or Latex template, found here, to ensure your submision adheres to formatting requirements as improperly formatted submissions will require revision. All papers will be required to include at least three references in the Introduction to establish the need for and novelty of the work, and at least two references in the discussion section to establish the significance of the findings compared with the existing literature. Papers should be 500-1000 words in length (excluding references and title block). Only two graphics are allowed, each of which can be a picture, a diagram or a table. The use of collages (multi-part figures) is permitted, as long as the text is legible and the graphics are clear. Please try to limit formatting complexity and make sure to embed text labels within diagrams and pictures. These images will be used without change in the final digital proceedings.
We especially encourage young researchers to take part in the conference. Accordingly, some preference will be given to presenting authors who do not yet hold (or have only very recently taken up) faculty appointments or post-graduation industry.
