About CAOS 2024 Groningen, the Netherlands:

CAOS International is organizing the 23rd annual Computer Assisted Orthopaedic Surgery (CAOS) Congress in Groningen in 2024.

As we all know, computer-assisted surgery is definitely our future, especially robotic surgery. The new robot arms, capable of bending and rotating with high precision and accuracy, can assist surgeons in achieving better and safer outcomes for patients. Robotic surgery is already being used. Additionally, the use of big data in the medical field is becoming increasingly common and will play a larger role in our medical systems.

CAOS 2024 promises to provide you with up-to-date knowledge and the latest technologies, combined with delightful food and a pleasant stay. In short, this is an event you don’t want to miss! Be sure to mark the date in your calendar: June 19-22, 2024 – Groningen!

CAOS International:

The society aims to capture the essence of the current trends and scientific progress to provide experts and newcomers with a clear synthesis of state-of-the-art information in the course of our annual meeting as well as in our activities including interdisciplinary focus groups cooperating on different fields, programs for continuous training and education, student mentoring programs as well as resources for exchanging data and resources for research, development and education. From an original historical focus on computer assisted navigation, the society expands its mandate to include the essential fields of advanced medical imaging, mathematical modeling, individual biometrics of gait and soft tissue characteristics, and peri-operative objective functional outcomes, internet of things and the digital operating room, medical apps and data security as well as rapid prototyping or the critical role of economics and health technology assessment.

Accessibility

The Netherlands is a welcoming country. The Netherlands is small, making travel within the country very convenient: it is easily accessible by plane, and within the Netherlands, you can travel easily by train or bus. The CAOS Congress 2024 will take place at the UMC Groningen.

UMC Groningen is easily accessible by various modes of transportation. If you are arriving by car, there are parking facilities available on-site. Public transportation options, such as buses and trains, are also convenient for reaching the venue.

If you are traveling from outside the city or internationally, you can fly to Amsterdam Schiphol Airport. The airport is situated approximately 200 kilometers outside of the city. Travelling from this airport to the Groningen is very easy and will take appr. 2 hours by train (see underneath).

Other airports are Rotterdam/The Hague Airport (appr. 3 hrs. from Groningen) and Eindhoven Airport (3,5 hrs from Groningen).
