On Thursday and Friday, April 16 and 17, 2026, the Eureca Masterclass 2026 will take place at Erasmus MC. During this two-day event, the program will feature lectures and various workshops in which experts will share their knowledge on the following topics:
On Thursday, April 16, the conference will take place, followed by the skills lab on Friday, April 17.
The target audience includes medical specialists (in training), orthopaedic surgeons, trauma surgeons, plastic surgeons, rehabilitation physicians, paediatricians, sports medicine physicians, general practitioners (in training), physiotherapists (in training) and orthopedic cast technicians.
Accreditation will be requested from NOV & KNGF.

Dr. C.J.A. (Christiaan) van Bergen
Orthopedic Surgeon | Erasmus MC, Rotterdam, The Netherlands
Since 2018, he has been working as a staff member in orthopaedics at Amphia Hospital. In addition, since 2022 he has been working on Wednesdays at the Erasmus MC Sophia Children’s Hospital, which has a close collaboration with Amphia Hospital.
He completed his training as an orthopaedic surgeon and his PhD research at the AMC in Amsterdam. He further specialized through fellowships in the Netherlands and abroad, including in Cape Town, Hoofddorp-Haarlem and Utrecht, as well as through international “travelling fellowships.”
Mevr. Prof. dr. D. (Denise) Eygendaal
Orthopedic Surgeon | Erasmus MC, Rotterdam, The Netherlands
Prof. Denise Eygendaal is an orthopedic surgeon with a dual specialization in upper extremity and sports injuries. She is known for her translational research and leadership in orthopedic education. Prof. Eygendaal is the head of the Department of Orthopedics and Sports Medicine at Erasmus MC and is a strong advocate for interdisciplinary collaboration and mentoring young professionals in orthopaedics and sports medicine.
Dr. A.E. (Anna) van der Windt
Orthopedic Surgeon | Erasmus MC, Rotterdam, The Netherlands
Since 2022, she has been working as a staff member at Erasmus MC. Her area of expertise is the treatment of arm conditions, with a particular focus on elbow disorders in both adults and children. As part of a multidisciplinary team, she treats elbow osteoarthritis, fractures of the arm, post-traumatic conditions and (elite) sports injuries. Advanced techniques such as 3D analyses and 3D-printed surgical guides are regularly used in preoperative planning.
In addition to patient care, she is actively involved in scientific research. She obtained her PhD at Erasmus MC in 2017 with basic research focused on new treatment strategies for osteoarthritis. Her aim is to translate fundamental scientific findings into improved treatment options for patients. She was trained as an orthopaedic surgeon at Erasmus MC and Reinier de Graaf Hospital, and further specialized in elbow disorders and paediatric orthopaedics through dedicated training and fellowships.
The conference is organized at Erasmus MC.
